Are you a computer science major? Would you like to help high school girls learn that programming is fun?

Become a Technovation Challenge Teaching Assistant! You’ll get a chance to work with with a team of five high-school aged girls as they design and prototype a mobile phone app using App Inventor for Android.  You will support them as they learn computer programming and entrepreneurship skills, and be the “technical expert” as they learn how to program for the first time.  App Inventor is a blocks-based, visual programming language (similar to Scratch).  Please note: Experience working with youth and prior programming experience are required. This is a volunteer position.

Commitment:
  1. Fill out a quick application to tell us about your background.
  2. Attend a training in January.
  3. Visit a school site in your area once per week from February–April (approx. 3–5 pm) for ten weeks to support students as they learn programming and create an app with App Inventor.
