Are you a high school teacher with a passion for technology?
Become a Technovation Challengecoach! The main role of a coach is to support girls in the Technovation Challenge course as they design and develop a mobile phone app. In our training, you’ll learn everything you need to know about starting up a club and coaching your students, and we’ll support you through each step of the process. We hope to start Technovation clubs in schools throughout the Bay Area and NYC, and we’re looking for outstanding teachers to help us do that. Come join us and inspire girls at your school to be high-tech entrepreneurs!
Commitment:
- Attend two training sessions (one in Nov. and one in Jan.)
- Recruit and select a team of 10-20 girls from your school to participate
- Attend all ten course sessions (once per week for two hours) in the spring (Feb.-Apr.)
- Help coordinate student transportation to the corporate site each week
- Support your team as they work in your classroom on their projects after school
Coaches Receive:
- $1000 stipend
- An Android tablet for use in your classroom all year + training on how to use it
- Professional development training + Continuing Education Units
- (Optional): Admission to our “Technovation for Teachers” program we’re launching this summer, where you’ll have an opportunity to create your own educational apps!
