Our parents are very ambitious for their children but most don't have the time or opportunity to get involved in the child's learning. ST. AGNES does not have the resources to offer evening, family science learning activities. This would be a godsend for our children. For example: Ashley, a 6th grader last year, was feeling lonely and rejected after her baby sister was born in December. Even more telling, Ashley never found a skill or subject where she could shine and make her parents proud of her. But she knew she loved science. When Family Science Night came to St. Agnes, Ashley brought her mother and the two learned about the heart by making a working model of a 4 chambered heart. At the end of the sessions, Ashley's mother told the Iridescent instructor that she was amazed and inspired by Ashley's obvious talent in science. Family Science Night made a significant difference to Ashley. St. Agnes wishes it could have Family Science Night all year! There is no telling how many young lives would be changed by this experience!!
