The Technovation Challenge is a mentorship program to foster innovation and diversity by giving high-school girls hands-on experience with engineering and high-tech entrepreneurship.
Core values of the Technovation Challenge:
Hands-on experience
Give the students hands-on experience of working with a team to create and develop a new product or idea “from scratch”
Provide mentors with an opportunity to volunteer in a setting that utilizes their deep technical expertise
Entrepreneurship
Train the students to think of problems as opportunities that can be solved by the use of technology
Provide mentors with the experience of launching a new venture
Making Connections
Empower the students and mentors to work in teams of members with diverse interests and skill sets in a format that allows them to experience the challenges of real-world problem-solving and team-building
Enable the mentors to network with like-minded professionals
Create a platform for lasting mentor/mentee relationships
