The Technovation Challenge is a mentorship program to foster innovation and diversity by giving high-school girls hands-on experience with engineering and high-tech entrepreneurship.

Core values of the Technovation Challenge:

Hands-on experience

  • Give the students hands-on experience of working with a team to create and develop a new product or idea “from scratch”
  • Provide mentors with an opportunity to volunteer in a setting that utilizes their deep technical expertise

Entrepreneurship

  • Train the students to think of problems as opportunities that can be solved by the use of technology
  • Provide mentors with the experience of launching a new venture

Making Connections

  • Empower the students and mentors to work in teams of members with diverse interests and skill sets in a format that allows them to experience the challenges of real-world problem-solving and team-building
  • Enable the mentors to network with like-minded professionals
  • Create a platform for lasting mentor/mentee relationships
